sky hd review Once I got my Panasonic HD television set, the foremost thing on my head was how long do I have to wait to get sky high def put in. I’d already seen high-definition movies via my apple telly and was real struck, but I could not continue paying for hired movies. What I truly desired is sky, I wanted all the films and I wanted football in high def. I had read many sky hd reviews that I had to just jump in and order sky. How did I order sky HD Well I went online and signed up, it took about 10 mins and was somewhat pain-free, most of my time was spent mixing up the packs, removing and adding – did I really want sky arts. I opted for the sky HD box, the hd pack and the film pack. It was rather pricey I would now find myself paying barely under 60 pounds per calendar month but would have everything I wanted in HD. It took a couple of weeks to get the whole thing put in, I live in flats and already have a common dish, so the sky set up was just some feller giving me the sky high-def box, and installing it. I could have done this myself, but it was this feller problem. It took him about 5 mins, afterwards which he gave me a fast summing up on the features. I just needed him to get out so I could play with my new toy. Read sky hd review How good is the high-def picture The hd picture quality is in a word spectacular. The best way I can describe it? well, I wear specs the pictures on a normal telly is like seeing without my specs, fuzzy, lack of detail etc. When you see a high-definition picture is like wearing the specs so much more detail, sharp you start to see things that you would never experience on the old image. I found myself thinking what would the matrix look like in high-def, before I knew it I was watching all my favourite films again in high def. Other benefits of sky HD Well the other major benefit from my point of view is the sound quality. Sky pumps out dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. So, like me, if you have a 5.1 system, I have a sony, can’t recollect the model but it cost a lot, then the sound is awesome. The remote record feature is also a great feature. It essentially allows you to visit the sky website, view the telly schedule, and record. So if you are at work you can surf the schedule and record at your lesiure, when you get home everything will be sitting inside your sky high-definition box ready to view. Free broadband – I was a little uncertain about the free broadband. I was with bt, and they had the worst service. I was lucky if I got 1mb download speed, despite many phone calls they never resolved it. When you call bt youre calls are sent to india, where despite their best efforts the staff are just reading from a script. I could never understand what they were saying and got really defeated. So thanks to bt, I decided to choose for the sky broadband and try and save a bit of cash, I was paying bt 20 pounds for the joy of their bad service. I got the sky hd box working first, and finally got the free broadband a couple of weeks later, as bt were slow in making things happen their end. I was dreading trying the net as I thought it would be slower than bt. To my surprise the connection was a full 2mb, I know this is not the fastest but for me I was jumping with joy.
